Gift Card Drive

Did you know that one-third of working-age cancer survivors go into debt? *  Even for insured patients, breast cancer is expensive.  Doctor co-pays and medication impact a patient’s finances along with added costs for transportation and childcare. Finances can be further worsened by the loss of income during treatment.
Breast cancer hits everyone hard financially, but some studies have shown that women with a lower socioeconomic status are more than twice as likely to delay breast cancer treatments after diagnosis.  We believe that a patient’s financial situation should never cause her to stop or even delay treatment.  Help defray the cost of breast cancer by providing a gift card for a local patient in treatment.

“Before I traveled to my MRI appointment in Fairfax, about 1&1/2 hrs from home I was sent a gas gift card. I couldn’t believe the thoughtfulness of that. What a kind gesture. These words are few but the appreciation is great! A ray of hope during a very scary time… Thank you just doesn’t seem enough. I do believe my life will change forever (for the good) I hope & thank you for being a part of the goodness!”
